Wreck This Journal

I was in WHSmith the other day and decided to treat myself to a little book. I was looking through their Popular Reads section and ended up coming across this book by Keri Smith. Thinking it was an actual piece of fiction, my immediate thoughts were that it was some kind of coming of age story from the perspective of somebody writing in their diary (maybe a bit of a cross over between the Georgia Nicolson diaries and The Perks of being a Wallflower), however when I opened it I found something so much better.

On each page there is a suggestion of how to wreck that page, with one of my favourite examples being that you rip out the page, put it in the pocket of your jeans and put them through the wash.

I've already started to destroy the journal, and I have to say the satisfaction I've got out of it already has been enormous. It's allowed me to do the things that, as a book lover and preserver, I've always been weary about doing (like breaking the spine) and it's honestly just so much fun.
